Does the EV give you visions of "The People's Car" - the Volkswagen Beetle of the 50's and 60's?

My wife had a '58 Beetle and I remember those cold winters where the "heater" was an open flange in the floor that was centered over the exhaust pipe so the heat from the pipe could find it's way up into the interior of the car. It was not that efficient. :-))

Of course being The Peoples Car they did not cost $60,000 -- $40,000 for a cheap car and $20,000 for a battery to turn the wheels.
