RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:What energy mix can limit emissions and keep the lights on?Oh well I guess if you read it in the Globe & Mail its gospel then.. LOL.. David Suzuki was touting in the late 70's early 80's of the next ice age that wasn't too far off.. and ringing the alarm bells.. LOL.. guess that one lost traction.. so now its "climate change".. meanwhile his carbon foot print is FAR LARGER than most..! :-/ And "special interest groups" come in all industries.. even the "green/anti fossil fuel" crowd.. nothing wrong with trying to conserve energy and or, create new energy systems to aid in the growth in the need for energy.. but to throw the O&G industry under the bus for a eutopian mirage is just foolish by any standard..!

I am 71, a retired renovation contractor. My thoughts are primarily my own through extensive global news reading and my own observations. Since retiring I have become aware of the extent capitalism and wealth inequality has distorted democratic values. Many special interest groups who for vested or political reasons distort or mold facts to support their agenda. Short term gaining and maintaining power by politicians often beholden to big business precluding long term vision and good governance. I am primarily an optimist but even moreso a realist. I do see increasingly destructive climate events becoming more frequent and powerful going forward if we collectively cannot break our addiction and dependence on fossil fuels. Unfortunately they are so lucrative and convenient and that this presents a very difficult challenge for humanity. It requires a collective response and level of cooperation that is foreign to so many peoples thinking. Thank you for your open minded responses and curiosity.
