RE:Some of you may find this useful@CNG1978 What are you suggesting here? That Sherritt's nickel is being sold in the USA via cicuitous paths? That USA is buying Russian nickel as well? It is well-known that NILSY sells metal into the EU and China. Presumably alot of Sherritt's product ends up there also. Some time ago Canada announced grants to develop EV-metals/battery complex here. I mentioned that S should be applying for that to expand their refinery.

In regards to whether LME is relevant... I would say yes, but only to the extent it offers ability to hedge production and enable price discovery. Large producers willl sell forward their metal capacity via long-term contracts agreed to directly with purchasers, not through LME. I think that's understaood.
