Fictional discussion"So, how did we do, old chap?"
"We are doing very well, the flagship Vantage DX, contrary to RBC Vantage, is doing great and the strategy is coming together nicely. Not to bore you with the details, but in the first two quarters our number of users more than doubled since Q4."
"Great. Please do bore me with some details."
"Well, our Vantage DX number of users now is almost half a million. 474K to be exact, but "half a million" has a nicer ring to it."
"Terrific. What about users across all platforms?"
"Well, 2.2 million."
"Hmmmm. That sounds a bit lower than what I seem to remember. What was the previous total?"
"2.9 million."
"OK, so our total number of Vantage DX users is almost 500,000, more than doubling over two quarters. But this quarter we lost 500,000 users across all MS platforms?"
"Yes. Sunsetting our old customers from prevous products. Once we lose those customers, then it gives us that much larger addressable market that we can then try to sell to. As they say in business, every threat is an opportunity."
"I see. Tell me about the revenues."
"Almost quarter million this quarter for Vantage DX."
"So, that covers the annual board fees. And with a bit of growth, the next quarter will cover your annual salary."
The fly on the wall could not take it anymore.
