“Remember, shorts never short .a bad stock GRANHAMF....” You guys keep blaming shorts.
You even said that the NICE report was a play on getting the price lower!
Forget the conspiracy theory.
There is hardly any shorts here.
Shorts are not why the stock is going down IMO-its because it hasn’t delivered on sales and GE alliance, China, etc IMO
There is hardly anyone interested as the tradining volume is tiny.
Interms of your statement :
“Remember, shorts never short .a bad stock GRANHAMF....” Another one of these cute memorable quips that are factually incorrect.
This topic has been systematically studied, and the opposite is true.
Short sellers target weaker firms: “Firms with low ratios of fundamentals (such as earning and book values) to market values are known to have systematically lower future stock returns. We document that short-sellers position themselves in the stock of such firms, and then cover their positions as the ratios mean-revert. We also show that short-sellers refine their trading
strategies to minimize transactions costs and maximize their investment returns. Our
evidence is consistent with short-sellers using information in these ratios to take
positions in stocks with lower expected future returns.”
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0304405X01000563 For me, I haven’t taken out a short position here or ever as the downside is too great.
Options or puts are safer, but even then I havent done that-just a long investor-make the odd trade if I really get to know a stock.
Speaking of which...
, maybe I will buy a little VPT -if it keeps dropping to the low 20s or teens with tax loss selling etc-who knows-some of you here seem to say this is a good trade.
For a long term hold however, no way for me, until we see significant sales (over 100-and not “placements” or “users”), and I see the operating metrics., profit margin, and cash flow positive.
Just keeping it based on facts.
You guys send so much time insulting each other-no time for that
Pleased to educate you guys though-hope this helps!
