It's all CS-600 NowIf Newcrest was at all serious when telling Mr. Konkin that "deeper is better" for block caving, hole GS-22-157 finding .33% Cu down to 1879 meters should have their attention. Not to mention that it opens up a huge block of ground for further drilling next year on the Porphyry Intrusive between Sections M and N.
This could well be a copper mine with a very nice gold and silver grade icing.
If Newmont is still looking for copper mines like GT Gold, they also should be looking much more closely at Treaty Creek after this year's results.
Although the amount of copper at Treaty Creek should double with the next resource estimate, there is still further to go on the CS-600. Gold grades will be higher, especially if the plan jettisons lower grades down toward Copper Belle and moves the entire deposit outline to the northeast. Even so, we should be able to determine how many ounces were dropped in order to get the grade up, so we'll know how much total gold is in the deposit.
Silver grades and ounces look to be higher as well.
After the estimates are out my only question will be whether one of the majors will try to get a "first mover" advantage on Treaty Creek next year.
My gut tells me Newmont will be fine with Treaty Creek unless someone else beats them to it. My guess is that Newcrest will go for both Ascot and Scottie to combine those projects. It fits their pattern with respect to Pretium and Red Chris. Either way I see a year of action in this area of the Golden Triangle next year.
Do your own due diligence and come up with your own guesses.
