Excerpt from Stockwatch Gold-Today Speaking of dream sheets, James Withall's Rupert Resources Ltd. (RUP) jumped 30 cents to $4.50 on 156,000 shares on word of a promising preliminary economic assessment of its Ikkari gold discovery and the Pahtavaari mine in northern Finland. The plan calls for an initial expenditure of $405-million (U.S.), with underground development later to cost a few hundred million more dollars.
The plan is based on 48.3 million tonnes indicated at 2.5 grams per tonne and 20.4 million tonnes inferred at 1.9 grams per tonne, just over five million ounces of gold. The 22-year plan calls for production of 4.2 million ounces -- enough to support a discounted net present value of $1.6-billion (U.S.).
