Alternate Symbol(s):  PEYUF

Peyto Exploration & Development Corp. is a Canadian energy company involved in the development and production of natural gas, oil and natural gas liquids in Alberta's deep basin. The Alberta Deep Basin is a geologic setting situated on the northeastern front of the Rocky Mountain belt in the deepest part of the Alberta sedimentary basin. It acquired Repsol Canada Energy Partnership (Repsol Assets), which included around 23,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day of low-decline production and 455,000 net acres of mineral land. The acquisition includes five operated natural gas plants with combined net natural gas processing capacity of around 400 million cubic feet per day, 2,200 kilometers (km) of operated pipelines, and a 12 MW cogeneration power plant. These assets include Edson Gas Plant and the Central Foothills Gas Gathering System. The Company has a total proved plus probable reserves of approximately 7.8 trillion cubic feet equivalent (1.3 billion barrels of oil equivalent).

Why build up these huge plants to produce ammonia from ng as a feedstock? The energy that goes into the re-forming could just as easily be used directly for heating, propulsion, manufacturing....

In transportation, electrification is the most obvious way forward. Cars, trucks, pleasure craft, and short-haul boats and planes are all going electric.

Even if ammonia becomes the Next Big Thing, there probably won't be any kind of lasting benefit for NG producers. There are already ways of producing ammonia that don't need NG, and it's just a matter of time before they're scaled.
Hydrogen energy storage in AMMONIA: Fantastic future or fossil fuel scam?

Speaking about the need for massive new infrastucture, a grid based on wind and solar would seem to require not only more grid but also massive storage in locations where the wind does not always blow nor the sun always shine. .I would imagine the situation is similar in many parts of the globe. remember people like to use their Ice s to travel , sometimes to remote locations (even off road). EV s will require the installation of charging stations everywhere.
