I don't know the intricate details of it but I can say that in BC this issue has been going on for quite some time and continues to go on to this day. As far as I know it started when Dr. Brian Day opened his private surgical suite. He ran it for many years while he and the province duked it out in court.
The quasy private system is very much live and well here. For example 2 years ago I paid a neurosurgeon $450 to skip me to the head of the line as I knew that I needed back surgery and couldn't bear 10-12 months on a waitlist.
As far as Telus Health goes, I hope that this doesn't negatively impact them. Their system is slick. They provide quick access to tele-health appropriate appointments. MediCall should take a chapter out of their book.
Wow! if the situation is that serious i think Medicall could take advantage. But they need a serious promotion to reach out the better part of population.Where there's a will, there is a way
