Oil and MetLife Why are oil companies trading near all time highs as well as MetLife? Both types of companies do well in higher demand / higher long term inflationary environment.
What the market is sniffing out is that the fed will ultimately chicken out and we will end up in a higher inflation environment over the next 10 years.
There will be a correction in oil as the earnings picture and demand falls in the short term but then the inflation picture will resume in earnest.
Oil to $200. And then the next major bout of inflation will arrive.
