Silicon based anode material high capital requirementsBodes very well for Purevap as Gen 3 is being validated. Long and strong PYR and HPQ! As posted by cargo: @cargo Brendan Jephcott post on the price comparison of a silicon anode facility versus graphite facility. Hard not to see where $HPQ's Silicon PUREVAP™ GEN3/4 plant will fit in:) https://www.linkedin.com/posts/brendanjephcott_silicon-anodematerial-activity-6998842268979802112-kZGY Silicon-based anode material production currently has extremely high equipment requirements, requires a large amount of capital investment and consumes large amounts of energy during its production process. For instance, the capital requirement for silicon carbon anode material can be as high as 1 billion CNY (US$142M) from a per 10,000 tonne basis, which is much higher than conventional artificial graphite which is about 170 million CNY (US$24.28M). By partnering with upstream raw material suppliers, simplifying production processing routes through environmentally friendly methods and technological breakthroughs, the silicon-based anode material industry is expected to usher in lower capital investment amount, lower production cash costs, and in combination with growing demand for higher product performance, it will continue take market share away from the traditional carbon-based anode material industry leading to great development prospects. https://lnkd.in/gdXFBYhA #silicon #anodematerial
