RE:Vinnie I never tried that but I will with small amounts. I like your idea.

Here is one I tried a few times. Take the biggest 20 oil stock on the TSX, check target prices in research of Yahoo  Canada TD andScotia. Buy the 3 top best stocks for a big move  upward movement. ie target is 74% upwards 

Then take the 3 worst ones and short them for an overall equivalent amount , they would have for example 1-2% upward movement or even negative predicted movements. Ususally the really bad ones  you cannot short so the trading houses look at this.

I lost everytime doing this, not daily but after a month or so because of surprises and weird movements

Thar was mind boggling.If we could just figure out the algos.
