RE:RE:RE:FWIWtranslation: PEKANBARU – Cooperation Contract Contractor (KKKS) PT Sumatra Global Energy (SGE) as the new Operator of the Long Strait Work Area since 2019 has succeeded in reactivating the wells in the Long Strait Work Area so that the work area can resume production.
General Manager of PT SGE, Muhammad Fattah, said that PT SGE had reactivation of 2 wells namely BA-7 and BA-8 in the Bakau Field from the target of 3 wells with a production of around +/- 330 barrels of oil per day which were accommodated in Oil Barges where at today there will be a release of Oil Barge from the Bakau Field to Pertamina Sei Pakning as part of the Initial Lifting process at the Selat Panjang WK. "After the 2 wells, SGE plans to reactivate the next well, namely BA-9 so that production is expected to reach around 500 BOPD and seismic activity in 2023," said Fattah.
The management of the SGE PSC Contractors also expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the support and assistance of the Regional Government, both the Riau ESDM Service, Siak Regent, Sungai Apit Sub-District Head, KSOP, Police and SKK Migas so that they could re-produce oil from the Long Strait Working Area. Towing Oil Barge from the Bakau Field was carried out on December 5, 2022 at 18.30 with a cargo of around +/- 5,700 barrels of oil to Pertamina Sei Pakning with a journey time of around 9-12 hours. "Thank God, the oil barge arrived at Pertamina Sei Pakning on December 6, 2022 and it is hoped that the oil transfer process will be completed today, December 7, 2022," continued Fattah.
The Head of SKK Migas Representative for the Sumbagut Region expressed his appreciation for the good cooperation and support from the Regional Government, KSOP and the Police so that the process ran safely and smoothly. "Let's pray together that the initial lifting process for the SGE KKKS can run safely and smoothly to Pertamina Sei Pakning so that this lifting can increase national production and support the 2030 production target of 1 million barrels per day according to the mandate of the President," said Rikky. "Representatives of North Sumatra as the vanguard of SKK Migas always provide support to PSC Contractors in carrying out oil and gas exploration and production," he continued.
The Head of the Riau ESDM Service, Mrs. Evarefita appreciated the first lifting activity at the Selat Panjang CA because oil and gas production in Riau Province would increase which would impact on increasing Regional Revenues through the Revenue Sharing Fund. The Riau ESDM Service also appreciates the good cooperation or synergy with SKK Migas and PSC Contractors in Riau Province because every activity is always informed and any problems are resolved together.
On this occasion, PT SGE's BOD said that this activity was the company's commitment to increase oil and gas production in achieving the Government's target whereby SGE is optimistic that it can produce around 5,000 bopd in the coming years. The towing oil barge activity was witnessed directly by the Head of Representative for SKK Migas for the Sumbagut Region, the Riau ESDM Service and PT SGE PSC Contractor Management.
The Selat Panjang Working Area previously stopped operating in 2017 due to the previous operator being declared bankrupt by the Court. This Working Area has 3 active fields namely Bakau Field, Selat Panjang Field and Swamp Oil Field. ***
