If you take what he said, I'm not sure how it may actually work. If you look at the Congressional Calendar, the House is only in session until this week and the Senate until the 22nd.
Unless they decide to extend the sitting (which I doubt they will for just SAFE+). I can only see them extending for pressing issues and will be anxious to go home for Christmas.
The House then only comes back on Jan. 3rd, which appears to be the day they elect the new House Leader. I may be missing something?
