RE: SCS New Tour Tek Service Bureau
RE: SCS New Tour Tek Service Bureau"I forgot to add that the cost for SCS to supply this service is allmost nil"
Additional costs may be small but it is untrue that the cost is almost nil. The whole tourtek development / operation is the major part of SCS overheads, and with minimal income is their main source of cash burn. CLosing Tourtek down would have a very healthy effect on cashflow and P&L. It has to start generating money to justify it's ongoing existence.
I have to say I like the idea of turning Tourtek into an ASP operation. Supporting software out in the field is a large, expensive and risky proposition (Look no further than Grand 'Misadventures'). Having all of the servers and data in house is a great solution. I wonder if the have any plans to make a web front end so no software resides on the client site, that would reduce installation and support costs even more.
I like what is happening on this board. Less people screaming for PR, more appreciation for Larry's honesty and what he has been trying to acheive (profits rather than hype). Can't wait to see some real figures about booking numbers on LL+ and Tourtek ASP. There is HUGE potential here, but currently no hard data to indicate how much of this potential may be realised.
Still Holding and too lazy to buy more.
(which I may live to regret - I hope so!)
