At the risk of over dwelling on this topic, below are a couple of relevant reads for those who are interested.  Worthy of note that Oshkosh Defence, the OEM of the JLTV (the HUMVEE replacement), AM General (the OEM of the mil spec HUMVEE) and GM Defence (OEM of the civilian Hummer) are pursuing electrified light tactical vehicles.
