RE:Beat up The share price just gave up the gains of the last few weeks. There seems to be less & less buy & hold investors in the market - I feel a bit like a passanger pigeon at times - on my way to extinction :)
I'm personally more concerned with having a stable income on an annual basis, but I can understand taking capital gains where you find them these days, as too often they are gone in a heart beat.
I read today that 70% of variable rate mortgages originated in 2021 have already reached the "trigger point" - where the interest component of the monthly payment now exceeds the mortgage payment. I would likely be gathering any capital gains I could if I was in that situation. 2023 could be a rough year for the markets.
