RE:SHORTING Regarding short selling...it is true that there are often attacks that have coordinating articles published.
However...on the TSX...short selling is allowed only for "borrowed shares".
This puts a limit on the extent that a stock can be shorted.
I have owned bio-tech stocks of junior companies and they were often attacked with BS articles in medical publications...and could be driven way lower.
A large company with a big float...such as IVN...is tough to drive very low...based on news.

What are the rules for selling a stock short?
To sell short, the security must first be borrowed on margin and then sold in the market, to be bought back at a later date. While some critics have argues that selling short is unethical because it is a bet against growth, most economists now recognize it as an important piece of a liquid and efficient market.
