I think timing is the problem with fossil fuels.Teck knows that the days of burning fossil fuels for energy are numbered.So,they can get ahead of the change,by dumping the oil sands and met coal or take advantage of the short term,by holding.But,if they wait too long,when demand for fossils declines,then they may be unable to sell those assets for much.So,maybe,playing the long game,getting into more copper and out of oil and coal will work out well.
