RE:You cannot go naked short on pure ni- warehouse ni emptySherritt should convince the Candian government/mint to print a nickel bullion Finnie made of 1oz pure nickel (with metal supplied exclusively by the company of course). There's roughly 1B Loonies in circulation. If the mint scrapped the Loonie and replaced it with Finnies they'd need ~200M coins to match the number of dollars face value in circulation. The shift to Finnies would require ~6kt of pure nickel. I bet you'd see alot of hoarding.
