Thursday will reveal the US inflation numbers for December.

Canadian inflation numbers will be released next week (Jan. 17).

Not sure how much of AQN's debt is held by US lenders vs. Canadian, but regardless, AQN shareholders should be hoping for lower-than-expected inflation numbers in both cases.

Not sure what economists are estimating on both sides of the border, but the November numbers were 6.8% (Canada) and 7.1% (USA). However, much like the quarterly earnings of individual stocks, the inflation numbers are usually compared to analysts' estimates instead of what the previous month's numbers were re. market reaction. Don't know what economists are predicting re. the December numbers.
