RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Market speakFrom what I have read and heard, for PR immigrants, they need to be sponsored and whoever signs, for their sponsors agrees to support them for 10 years. So no welfare/government financial assistance for them. Foreign students also dont qualify for welfare etc. However refugees get financial support and place to stay.
Immigrants that we are expected to get this year are to qualify to get into canada are based on their skills and fields that need workers, so they too wont get welfare.

Quebec hasn't felt that over crowding yet, I don't think. If Quebec has said NO, to future immigration to the Federal Govt, from what I hear? Then they must just be starting to feel the Imigration pain. Then they're starting to know what Imigration is doing. We, here in Ontario are suffering the overcrouding everywhere in this past 25 years. The overcrowding in our hospitals, our roads, our Gov't services, grocery stores, even our home availability has been diminished. Keep up the great posting work Stock. Cheers to you

We need workers in every industry. If Canada doesn't grow our workforce then we will become irrelevant globally.

I grew up here in Toronto been called WOP by the English speeking kids. Meanwhile I wasn't even Italian. I guess every nationality to them, were with out papers too. The way evrything is going right now with this Immigration, we're soon going to be the minority in our own Country/Province.

Not illness for me but new immigrants hardship.
In fact, when wanting to start school into the French school board, they wouldn't want immigrants but since there was no room in the English sytem, they tolerated us for one year then quickly excised me into the English system from there onward.
I always say, this province's politics loves shooting itself in the foot while they still hold onto old practices as they continue to prove out.
There is a lot of resistance to moving forward with the changing demographics. But the whining continues.

maybe you should have bought some ??? oh ya , I forgot, you are broke ...you sound like a little kid at a candy store window with his tongue stuck on the window thinking he can taste the candy ... then barking at the kids who walk out with cotton candy and trying to steal it from them .. ;) ...GLTA
it's actually a true story that happened to me when I was younger ... I had a really tough young life because of illness in the family , and my dad sent me to Karate school to help me with my anger issues ..one kid ( who had even worse issues than me ) kept taunting me and one day after we walked out with our cotton candy , that kid tried to take it away from me ,. I dropped the darn thing by accident but I made him pay for it with his blood .. the other kids cheered and I got a brand new CCcone ... I look back now and say to myself , boy was that fun .. no way I'd get away with that nowadays ... GLTA
Immigrants are coming in droves here and yes they do want to work , unfortunately they are getting many advantages that are costing tax payers a bundle , rents are skyrocketing because there is a huge lack of availability for " affordable rent" ... building new rentals costs a fortune therefore those new rentals will be subsidized by the population... even rundown apartments are getting huge money ... I had 1 landlord call me for a reference on one of my old tenants and he told me he received over 50 calls for a 1 bedroom apartment that he put on the market, in 1 hour !!! In January ??? It's never been seen before ... I explained to him that the applicant's family is from Africa and they are very good people , 1 brother owns a house in the outskirts and he is willing to sign as a caution for the rent ... although I believe the lack of apartments will help keep the scumbag tenants in check there will be a good amount who will not be able to get an apartment, and that will cost a bunch to taxpayers ... a friend owns a hotel and his best client is our dear government giving him big bucks to house the newcomers temporarily... imagine this ; hard working Quebecers have to live in run down apartments ( in order to not lose their low rent ) while immigrants are staying at 4.5 star hotel with welfare money to spend and free schooling also ... I'm laughing all the way to the bank ( with higher rents ) BUT ca va nous couter chere my friends ... GLTA
