RE:No More Open Pit Mines Allowed In MexicoI feel the need to ruminate regarding the situation with Chessy. It is really hard to believe how difficult it is to do legitimate business in Mexico. The only thing I can come up with is deep, deep, deep, and growing corruption. Take a look at the Rosiario fiasco involving CWCO. What a disaster. But, back to CKG. Not sure what 369 million refers to in the second to last paragraph, but, I would be curious. Would also be curious as to whether CKG's permitting may have been approved prior to the ruling.
About 1/4 to 1/3 of CKG's MV is attributable to it's stake in GUN. Newcrest has taken an interest in this property. If a deal comes down, CKG's MV may become 100% attributable to GUN. What this all tells me is, here we are with a company that has about 20 million oz's of gold along with 500 million oz's of siver in situ, that is being valued at about 100 million. On top of that, there is a lot of infrastructure built in,along with nearby energy and shipping etc. How can this be? I go back to my premise, (CORRUPTION). Saw a news item today suggesting that Mexico may become the new China. Wouln't that be wonderful? One could wait out the current admin. in Mexico, after all, it's already been about 5x that amount of time. Not that anything is likely to change.
It seems that the only relatively safe jurisdictions to do business are North America and Australia.
And, I really can't say for sure how squeeky clean these places are to do business. That is way above my pay grade.
