RE:Antibody testing: full disclosure25Stone7859 wrote: Antibody testing is not currently recommended to asses immunity after COVID-19 vaccination according to the FDA as of May 19/2021. Nothing has changed in the interim. I understand the CDC and other jurisdictions have similar filings in place. That is probably why AZOVA cancelled and why SQI could only get approval from the NYSDOH and not the FDA or even Health Canada. The lack of a distribution partner in the US after many months of silence rings loud and clear. SQI's future rests with RALI-dx; RALI-fast and TOR-dx. These incredible devices will re-charge SQI and attract investors.
While I generally agree with your thesis that momentum has shifted away from Covid Antibody Testing from home, towards Rali-dx etc., I would not discount or completely rule out the future of home testing to ascertain risk factors for Covid and other emerging repiratory viruses (particularily those viruses subject to waniing antibodies over time).
The hope was for mass appeal to determine an individuals readiness for the next wave. Now everything Covid - is almost shunned by the majority - including vaccines and boosters. Nevertheless my sense is that there is still much utility to the product that a portion of the population will want to take advantage of as we drift into endemic stages of the desease (and a perhaps less rapid evolvement). Think of it as an adendum of information for those health conscious individuals that go for regular blood tests, annual flu shots etc. They may be health conscious because they just are, or because of their age, or becasue of ongoing health issues & risks (e.g autoimmune problems), or becasue they want to travel, etc.etc.
In other words, many people take the time to regularly monitor their own blood readings, assess risk factors (e.g hepititus, cholesterol, cancers, blood sugars), etc. Covid or other antibody testing between ongoing vaccines would be a natural extension of overall health assessment monitoring. Many would require the help of their physicians to interpret, but many others might be quite capable of monitoring it on their own.
Nevertheless SQI, I agree has to modify its emphasis & priorities - to those with the greatest potential, at least in the short-term. Alternatively they sell off some peices to others that can run with them.
