I don't get the strategy. You could have dumped it all into an energy ETF and done quite well. I take my high risk profits and change them into vanilla dividends....but that's just me. Follow your bliss as the shrubs used to say in the 60's.
I hold a core position in SVA that doesn't change but will always play the ups and downs with small amounts. $5k invested recently in the mid seventies has turned into a very nice 68% gain (I jumped out at $1.26). I'll take that any day. You only have to pay attention...Bio was strongly hinting over several weeks there would be a jump. It's still a risk, I agree, cause no one is right all the time - but that was a good call.
I'll do the same on the next news cycle if the tea leaves are aligned. Remember, pay yourself first.
Been there done that, Merc.
No energy ETfs but I own ENB, CNQ and OXY.
I've owned them for years..
I own other "value" stocks as well.
It's all good. I've paid myself first, way before dumping any $$ into penny stocks
You know what they say about penny stocks; Only invest what you're willing to lose.
