RE:perhaps you have asked these same questions yourself

RE:perhaps you have asked these same questions yourself
I am trying to understand 5G better and thought I would ask the AI ChatGPT a few questions...

CF: Who controls 5G in Canada?

ChatGPT: In Canada, the deployment and operation of 5G networks is the responsibility of private telecommunications companies, such as Bell, Telus, and Rogers. These companies are licensed and regulated by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), which is an independent public organization that oversees the Canadian broadcasting and telecommunications systems.

The CRTC sets the rules and standards for the deployment of 5G networks in Canada, and ensures that the companies that provide these services meet certain requirements for coverage, quality, and accessibility. Additionally, the federal government also plays a role in the deployment of 5G networks through its policies and regulations related to telecommunications, such as spectrum allocation and security.

It's important to note that the Canadian government also has a role in ensuring national security and protecting the privacy of citizens. This is done by working closely with telecom companies and the CRTC to establish the necessary regulations and standards to ensure the safety and integrity of the network.

CF: Who controls 5G in the U.S.A.?

ChatGPT: In the United States, the deployment and operation of 5G networks is primarily the responsibility of private telecommunications companies, such as AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. These companies are licensed and regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which is an independent government agency that oversees the American telecommunications industry.

The FCC sets the rules and standards for the deployment of 5G networks in the United States, and ensures that the companies that provide these services meet certain requirements for coverage, quality, and accessibility. Additionally, the federal government also plays a role in the deployment of 5G networks through its policies and regulations related to telecommunications, such as spectrum allocation and security.

The government also has a role in ensuring national security and protecting the privacy of citizens, this is done by working closely with telecom companies and the FCC to establish the necessary regulations and standards to ensure the safety and integrity of the network.

It's important to note that the US government has also been involved in the development and deployment of 5G, the Trump Administration had set the goal of having a nationwide 5G network built by the end of 2021, and the current administration is also focusing on expanding access to 5G technology across the country.

CF: Do I need to have a cell phone to use 5G?

ChatGPT: In order to use 5G networks, you will need a device that is compatible with 5G technology. This typically means a smartphone or tablet that supports 5G. If you want to take advantage of the faster speeds and lower latency of 5G networks, you will need a device that is capable of connecting to 5G frequencies.

Most new smartphones are compatible with 5G networks, but if you have an older device, it may not be able to connect to 5G. In that case, you would need to purchase a new device that is compatible with 5G.

It's also worth noting that not all 5G networks are the same, there are two types: low-band 5G (sub-6GHz) and mmWave 5G (millimeter wave). Some devices are only compatible with one type of 5G, so it's important to check with your device manufacturer or provider to ensure that it is compatible with the 5G network in your area.

In addition to smartphones, 5G technology is being adopted in other devices like laptops, smartwatches, and even home routers. There are also 5G-enabled hotspots that can connect your other devices to 5G network, this allow you to enjoy 5G speeds even if your device is not 5G-enabled.

Not bad considering this is an AI delivering the responses, with a limit on data availability of 2021. ChatGPT apparently does not have access to the Internet, it works with what it "knows". The answers each took only 10 seconds or so to be printed on-screen. Apparently fact-checking is something AI responses need, but at least the responses given are a starting point.

I did ask a series of questions of ChatGPT in early January to gauge the scope of its abilities. Impressive, well-meaning, but limited in its ability to offer an opinion. I was being a little mischevious and unfair towards the end...

CF: Can you make up a never-tried recipe for peanut butter and fried eggs?

ChatGPT: Sure, here is a recipe for Peanut Butter Fried Eggs:

Ingredients:

2 eggs
2 tablespoons peanut butter
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Heat a small frying pan over medium heat.

Crack the eggs into the pan and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Cook the eggs for about 2-3 minutes, or until the whites are set and the yolks are cooked to your desired level of doneness.

Using a spatula, carefully flip the eggs over and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Remove the eggs from the pan and place them on a plate.

Spread a tablespoon of peanut butter over each egg.

Serve immediately, with additional salt and pepper to taste if desired.

This recipe is a simple and unusual twist on traditional fried eggs, with the addition of creamy peanut butter for added flavor and protein. The eggs can be served on their own, or with a side of toast or other accompaniment.

CF: Can you write a song about a dog named Boo?

ChatGPT: Sure, here is a simple song about a dog named Boo:

Verse 1:
Boo is a little dog,
He's always wagging his tail,
He's the best friend I've ever had,
He never lets me down.

Chorus:
Boo, Boo, my little dog,
He's always by my side,
Boo, Boo, my faithful friend,
He's always there for me.

Verse 2:
Boo is a friendly dog,
He loves to run and play,
He's always ready for a walk,
No matter what the weather says.

Chorus:
Boo, Boo, my little dog,
He's always by my side,
Boo, Boo, my faithful friend,
He's always there for me.

Bridge:
I don't know what I'd do,
Without Boo by my side,
He's always there to comfort me,
Whenever I need a friend.

Chorus:
Boo, Boo, my little dog,
He's always by my side,
Boo, Boo, my faithful friend,
He's always there for me.
