I say "risk" only that at this particular stage, their technology is gaining a LOT of interest, and there are no doubt bigger entities that would love to take this company over. The risk component is how much of a premium shareholders will make, versus going the distance with the company as is.
To my thinking, this is a frustrating proposition. It's not often you find a company with this kind of potential. Yes, if they get bought, it would be at a very healthy premium to the current share price. But I think the far FAR bigger gain will be if they resist any buyout.
I would say going the distance is the more likely course of management, but you have to be aware of that other potential as well. I suppose as shareholders it's a nice problem to have....make a lot of money, or make a ridiculous amount of money. Call me greedy, but I want the latter!
