RE:Why Bother

RE:Why Bother I have to agree Goldy.. to quote Forest Gump.. “stupid is as stupid does” how someone can think they have any credibility when they can’t even spell at a second grade level is beyond me.. back on iggy they go... I don’t have time to argue with them anymore.. obtuse is not descriptive enough... anyway here’s some Actual facts.... a cat 777 dumper can carry 100 tons and there are several available in very good used condition for between $160,000 and $230,000. At those prices AWM and Bay could pick up 3 for about $1 million.. there are also several 50 ton CATs also in decent condition in northern Canada that could be picked up for about $50,000 a piece, now if they would rather go for a 400 ton CAT 797F it runs about $5 million new and there are a couple used ones available for about $3.5 million... don’t think AWM needs anything that big or expensive when you could buy many smaller ones for a lot less... it isn’t hard to look things like this up.. AMW already has one STEINERT KSS | XT CLI It is a combination unit, capable of handling a throughput of between 5 t/h and 100 t/h with a 1 m working width.
Using 5 of these would sort about 1,000,000 tons of soil in a 100 day period, that would produce in the range of 80,000- 100,000 tons of 53% concentrate at a value of $4,500 ish a ton..
the price for one of these is not stated on the steinart website but have found a few used sorter units on some reseller sites that run in the range of $120,000-$150,000 so I would guess 4 additional new sorters would run in the range of $500,000 - $600,000 a piece.. again just an estimate, could be a little more,  so for the sorters and trucks we are in for about $5-$6million. Excavators and loaders are also in the $100,000-$200,000 range, 3-4 excavators and 3-5 loaders to fill the grinders there are many available....last years set up including lodging food manpower fuel etc was just around $2 million. These are factual numbers... look em up..a 50’x 100’ steel building runs $21,000, that being said the initial set up doesn’t look to be much more than $12-$15 million.. again just looking at what’s available and the prices.. extra fuel etc will add a little more to it and the shipping cost.. but general basics etc don’t look terribly prohibitive.. if someone has a problem with my numbers take a look at what’s available out there and do your own math, $500 million? Who’s filling their own pocket.. lol.. doesn’t take much searching to find real numbers on an open pit mine... nuff said.. GLTA That are long!
