Very Interesting

Very Interesting

Dr. Ryan Long weighs in on our recent results from the BDF Zone at our HPM Project in Quebec. He notes that nickel sulphide and copper projects of this high grade nature don’t come along very often and that this project offers strategic significance.

Here’s a partial transcript of Dr. Long’s video note:

[Dr. Ryan Long] Murchison Minerals has published the final assay results from its Summer 2022 Drill Program at the HPM Nickel Copper Project, which is located in Quebec, Canada.

Now the drilling at the BDF Zone has confirmed the presence of an extensive zone of high grade nickel copper mineralization, and it remains open both at depth and along strike. Now, this really de-risks the project from a Murchison point of view.

They’ve proven that the BDF Zone in itself contains significant potential. But taking a step back, it’s important to look at the regional potential of the HPM project as the BDF Zone is just 1 of 75 targets at the project.

[Thomas Warner]: So just how much potential is there in this project?

[Dr. Ryan Long]: Well, there’s potential both at the local scale and at the regional scale.

So nickel sulphide and copper projects of this high grade nature and potential scale don’t come along very often. This could really shape up to be a once in 10 years type discovery if the regional potential is confirmed.

Added to that, it’s in an established mining jurisdiction with excellent infrastructure and a reliable rule of law. There’s a highly skilled workforce present. It’s located just 30 kilometres from a hydro power plant, which could provide a green energy source, potentially giving these potential projects a low CO2 footprint.

And it’s even located just eight kilometres from an existing and maintained rail light, which has direct access to two deep water ports. So from a geopolitical point of view, capital cost point of view and environmental point of view, it has all the markings of a strategic asset that could appeal to a much larger company than Murchison.
