What are these really for?

If you think about it, most soldiers don't need arm protection that's being talked about. That kind of protection is for crowd control. Up close and personal protection against citizens protesting against their government and the like. Scary part is people are talking about millions of orders possibly coming. What does THAT tell you? I'm stocking up on toilet paper!
