RE:RE:Next Millionaire is Mostly Air, But he Has a PointSarge- I agree with you about RBC. Have tried a few other brokerage accounts but overall I find RBC's online capabilites and service so much better I now use them almost exclusivley. You are also right about the Gold Circle benefits and service levels being a whole bunch of notches above the other brokers service levels.
The lack of capability on TD Webbroker is astonishing, I keep running into new hurdles as I try to help my nephew get stuff setup. Latest one, you can't even setup a monthly savings plan into an RESP or RSP online, have to fill out a paper form, have the branch submit it, and you can only do monthly, min 100, no option for bi-weekly or anything more frequesnt than monthly. If he didn't already have so much stuff at TD I would have suggested he switch banks.

How she go?
Very interesting on the customer service and investing websites from our big Cdn banks. I'm always quite amazed by how bad service has gotten in Canada in general. I really didn't notice too much until Covid when things took a turn for the worst. It's not just the banks either. My gut feel is that it has something to do with Turdo giving out so much free dough and de-motivating the younger generation from wanting to work at all.
It sure seems like things are going to h*ll in a handbasket.
Now after getting my rant in, I will add that I am quite pleased with RBC Direct Invesitng. They have an issue every now and again but they sure seem to do lots of stuff quite well. I am really pleased with the entire portfolio management and real time reporting as well as how well the trade orders are to put in and handling. I also really like it that with the Royal Circle level, there's a bunch of fees that are waived (eg: any RRIF withdrawals).
My wife & I will continue to hold our full positions in RY, TD, BMO, and BNS. We've sure done well with the first 3 over the years and BNS has been OK with the big divy income.
Take her easy

After 60 days of serious futzing around, we ended up moving all of his stuff to RBC. At least there, the online banking and trading platforms work. I have to say however, that helping a nephew who deals at TD has been a real eye opener too. Their in branch service dosn't suck quite as bad as BNS but it still sucks. Takes two weeks to get an appointment and then the person you are meeting with doesn't have the training to complete the transaction, meaning you need to see someone else, another 2 weeks down the road. In addition, you should not have to go into a branch for what he was trying to do but, the limitations on their Web Broker online system really suprised me, and means it has to be done in branch. You can't open joint accounts, even when the web Broker accounts are opened through the branch, you then have to call webbroker so they show there, you can't assign successors or beneficiaries, transaction postings so far don't show up until a day later, and on it goes.
I posted previously that I am completely out of BNS and won't be getting back in any toime soon, but I am seriously looking at how long I want to continue to hold TD shares also.
