Macallan East Drilling Update Scotch Creek just released drilling updates from the Macallan East project after finishing the second hole at the property and sending in thirty-three samples in earlier this month. With each hole being 1000ft+, it was used to discover lacustrine, volcanic ash-rich sediments deposited within the Clayton Valley evaporative basin.
- The second drill hole encountered ash-rich, lacustrine sediments below the gravel cover. It then passed through 100ft of a cobble alluvial unit where it then entered a second section of volcanic ash stratigraph.
- The lower ash zone intersected represents a previously unknown target sequence beneath the property (could be a deeper section of the Esmeralda Formation).
- Once data is compiled, they’ll use that information to target additional drilling on the property.

Moreover, nearby the project, a limited and relatively shallow drill program by Sienna Resources has shown the presence of lithium rich claystone lying beneath gravel cover deposits. It’s always good to keep an eye on neighbouring properties as their results could be indications of SCV’s resource potential. As they gear up to continue drilling, their property location (next to the only producing US lithium mine) and current valuation provide a significant value gap compared to competitors especially with the investments into lithium continuing to increase.
