Under Promise…….Over Deliver During my career in business I operated privately owned businesses. There was never any real requirement to report to upper management or external shareholders. However, I did have many friends and associates that did lead private and public companies and were required to stand before their BODs regularity and present at their AGMs annually. They had to answer the difficult questions about corporate financial performance. With experience and without exception they learned that an important practice was to manage expectations. To under promise and over deliver. Another was to blame your predeccesosrs for as much as possible in the formative years of your tenure. Not unlike when new finance ministers or treasury officials do when they first take office.
In the most recent video presentation to shareholders our CEO Sue said the start of production (SOP) was an extremelely important milestone. If I recall correctly, that specific milestone should be reached in Q2 of this fiscal year and that sometime in Q3 we should be generating revenues. Perhaps not enough to generate a profit but at least get the ball rolling so to speak. So those are my expectations.
Is there a possibility that she and the company can exceed my expectations? I hope so. If she is as sharp as I think she is, she will over deliver.
