We had 31.4 millions RSU, 31.4 millions PSU and 5.7 millions DSU at the end fo the year. So, 68.5 millions SUs. Stock goes up .10, it costs us 6.8 million.
One has to understand how the Sus are awarded : it basically a formula based on a % of salary divided by the stock price when awarded.
The good news, 40 millions Sus will be paid out in the coming days. Basically, Pathe was paid way more than Binedell and the 2020 Sus were issued when the stock was in the dump.
So we should have 28.5 Sus Outstanding plus 12 millions that will be issued this year (stock price is about the same) so lets round this up to 41 millions.
Is it too many SUs ? Well, if the stock rerates as some are thinking, we should be issuing less and less of them. Always the same value but divided by a higher stock price.
In the meantime, is it ok to give the equivalent of $ 6 million in deffered compensation to our board and management evey year ? This is another story. i just hope it cost us $ 60 million in 3 years :)
