RE:RE:EV Sales Collapse Globally as Subsidies Dry UpNo, I don't think it is cherry picking.
If that is true for China, I don't recall Europe and the rest of the world (which includes the US) being shut down in January for lunar new year that also suffered similar sales drops.
Overwhelmingly, ICE vehicles still maintain top sales position globally.
I do know there are about 1000 new Chinese Teslas parked at the docks in Southern Thailand, so one day I might see one in the flesh.

China accounts for 27 million auto sales per year and they ended one of their never ending subsidies in January so sales backed off so the actual numbers are correct. However, what the article fails to mention is that China shuts down for a minimum of 10 days in January for its main holiday of the year.
In January, Tesla slashed prices mid month and their sales since then have been double their production capacity. Feb sales for Tesla Shanghai were up 32% YoY.
The following article talks about how all of the Chinese automaker sales popped in February: https://www.investors.com/news/china-ev-sales-february-2023-nio-li-auto-xpeng-byd/
Last year, world wide auto sales were down 8%. During the same period, EV sales were up 49%
