Western Copper and Gold Corporation is a Canada-based mining company. The Company is engaged in developing the Casino Project. The Casino Project is a copper-gold mining project in Yukon, Canada. The Casino porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum deposit is located in west central Yukon, in the northwest trending Dawson Range mountains, approximately 300 kilometers (km) northwest of the territorial capital of Whitehorse. The Casino project is located on Crown land administered by the Yukon Government and is within the Selkirk First Nation traditional territory and the Tr’ondek Hwechin traditional territory lies to the north. The Casino Property lies within the Whitehorse Mining District and consists of approximately 1,136 full and partial Quartz Claims and 55 Placer Claims acquired in accordance with the Yukon Quartz Mining Act. The total area covered by Casino Quartz Claims is approximately 21,126.02 hectares (ha). The total area covered by Casino Placer Claims is 490.34 ha.

RE:Grid connectionIf you want production of ore concentrate to begin before about 2029, then you're building an LNG powered generator facility at the mine site.  Construction season in this part of the Yukon is 4 months at best; it will take years for the towers and transmission lines to reach that far north.  I watched a high voltage transmission line get installed along highway 52 between Rochester & Minneapolis a few years ago - fascinating work, but even for that 40 mile long section, it took several years to complete and become operational.  Minnesota has a much longer construction season than the Yukon.  Like JClarke said, it factors into the price to pay, but doesn't impact capital costs to build the mine, unless you're willing to delay mine construction until about the end of the decade.
