RE:Goldman Sachs 12 month forecast: gold at 2050$ .lolIt seems somewhat obvious, based on what you are saying, and, with which I agree, that perhaps a new paradigm is in order.
How can the gold mining industry be made more attractive to investors? The old model is not working. Years ago it used to. The industry has to find a way to work around the "controllers" that you mention.
I wish there was a simple answer. Unfortunately there does not seem to be.
The key, without doubt is for gold to significantly increase in price. The miners cannot do that on their own. Their has to be catalysts to make that happen.
Currently there are world events taking place that may act as major movers of the price. One being the banking crisis. Following the last banking meltdown, gold, between then and now increased in price by approximately 1000%. The bulk of that increase took effect not too long after the bailouts.
The second potential event might be what the BRICS decide to do this summer. You can bet your boots that challenging the petrodollar was discussed between China and Russia at their meeting. Away from prying ears, if you get my drift. If gold is used as the primary backing for a new currency to be used for trade, gold will have to go through the roof.
The gold mining industry may not have to do anything differently. Outside forces may ultimately change the paradigm for the industry. Is this a pipedream?
I bought more KRR when it did not move on the news.Of course it immediatly dropped further.LOL
I remain a believer.
