RE:Copper price expected surge to record high this yearThat is quite a discussion in the comments on the substitutability of Al for Cu. I conclude from it that we'll still need a lot of Cu. Pierre Lassonde said in a recent chat that substitution will be triggered in a more significant way at $7 Cu.
Is it a 9 million tonne annual shortfall that S&P Global is forecasting by 2035 in one of their scenarios? If that plays out we'll need all the Al substitution we can get.
