Look at Commonwealth Fusion Systems, among others, if you want to see a serious effort at developing fusion for the power grid. They're using yttrium barium copper oxide tape for magnets for their Tokamak. Even if the entire world were powered by toakmaks using yttrium barium copper oxide magnets, it wouldn't be all that much yttium, but I don't recall the figure. A small number of HREE mines, which are mostly yttrium, woudl be sufficient.
