Gold makes another run at $2,000 USDGold closed today about as close as it could to $2,000 USD. This is twice in a short time period that gold has made a good run at the $2,000 barrier. This is good for Tocvan as they better understand the chemistry at Pilar and how to optimize production. In particular, the visual confirmation of free gold in the finer-grained material could represent higher gold concentrations than previously thought but not sure how wide spread this is at this point.
I also like the discovery of several buried underground working entrances discovered along quartz vein structures while they opened trenches to collect material for the 1,000 ton bulk sample. At the very least, this suggests a robust mineralized system extends to the surface. It will be interesting to see how many underground workings there are and how deep they go.
In light of the discussions by Brodie about free gold, it does get one thinking about how big Pilar really is.
