RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Buyout question

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Buyout questionSooner, it seems that RIO is slow-walking this one.  They aren't in a rush to start a bidding war.

Management put in the restrictions on their share ownership, thus keeping the share price in the open market down.  At a certain point soon there should be no restrictions and then RIO can buy as many shares as needed to get the share price to the point where they can "justify" the buyout price.

Or, enter NEM who starts buying up.  Or enter the generalist/retail who starts buying up because gold is setting new all-time highs daily.  Once the run-up starts, the parties in play will have to be ready to show their cards as to what their best bids are.

Gold is the key, it will spark retail which will force the hands of the majors.  Right now, too many are still leery about gold being able to hold $2k.  Give it some time.  By end of the year we should be in a much improved environment to heat up M&A.
