RE:Big volume at close!

RE:Big volume at close! You are mis understanding the end of day "volume spikes", these spikes are not a single trade changing hands between one big buyer and one big seller. These are the "cross trades" that occur between big brokerages and occur throughout the trading day that do not get tallied in the daily volume until the end of the day. The significance of 1.3 shares of cross trades is negligable IMO. Months ago when there was a day with 60 million shares in cross trades, now that was something, dont ask me what that was about.

But a day with average volume and a share price move of 4.4% and outperformance of the sector, that is meaningful. One full year of consolidation, and the compounding effects of share buybacks taking hold. Weak hands washing out by the day. Positve catalysts are aligning. Cautiously optimistic over irrationally exuberant and remaining bullish.
