Papua LNG set for startup by 2028
Papua New Guinea’s new 6mn t/yr LNG project is on pace to start exports by 2028, and potentially sooner, as the development continues to progress. The planned Papua LNG scheme will also be closely integrated with the existing PNG LNG facility, which operates in Caution Bay, near the nation’s capital of Port Moresby. A fully integrated Feed process was launched in March, following preliminary Feed work on the project’s upstream portion last year. The integrated Feed study includes the “downstream liquefaction" segment, making it “a significant milestone”, says Kaushal Ramesh, LNG and power markets researcher at consultancy Rystad Energy. Fresh contracts have already been awarded .Papua LNG set for startup by 2028 (pemedianetwork.com)
