RE:From: MoMoney66 at ST Hey Wolfe....I feel like getting the trolls worked up and your post is a good segue. Yes it may mean nothing also. Maybe it will pique someone's interest, I was curious enough to look into a little bit. What's another log on the fire? Didn't know if I should post what you're about to see because I have no idea if I'm actually on to something or if it's already a non- issue.
Was going through some BB press releases from Jan 5 of this year. One of them was kind of innocuous looking and I did check SH for comments but found none. Granted, I may have missed. Anyways the pr stated (you can look it up) that BB QNX Hypervisor was selected for Garmin Unified Cabin Demonstration at CES 2023. Goes on to say Garmin is a Tier 1 automotive supplier providing electronics hardware including infotainment. That last word got me interested. Also their clients include BMW Group, Daimler,Ford, Honda and Geely(Volvo).
Headline and beginning paragraphs talks as if it's just a demonstration but as you read on you wonder if Garmin has adopted BB tech. Can't find Garmin on the BB Partner list so even more intriguing
So what? Well I came across a Garmin pr which you see below from Feb 25 of this year and it had to do with an app for anyone with a Garmin watch fob I believe. This fob does a multitude of things for the car owner. Oh, the owner's vehicle is a Tesla. You'll see Tesla mentioned a few times in this if you click on 'more'.
Tesla I've read is very hush hush about who their suppliers are. Some have been discovered only through tenacious investigation and searching, yet some remain unknown. BB, Garmin, Tesla.... connected? Whole thing sounds puzzling to me but perhaps I'm overlooking something. Not saying Tesla and BB are hooking up permanently, just throwing on another log. Heheheh
