smart meter or not, the hydro/power companies tracked usage - that's how they calculated their monthly invoice.
Any spike or high use in a residential dwelling or vacant warehouse was easily tracked.

The Police would go through the exact same process of legally obtaining use record regardless If there is a report of a suspected grow operation from a concerned citizen or a red flag raised by reviews of usage, smart meter or sending Joe out in the truck to read the meter.

Sorry - smart readers werent designed as a tool for law enforcement, which is apparently what you think. Instead of estimates or manual reads - the meters reduced manpower (meter readers) and improved accuracy and effciiency,.

What part of the 'Public Safety Health Act' or common law will police use, rather than the legal rpocess they use now?
