Biting off more than can chew.A lot of talk at the recent G7 conference. The ambitious targets/dates I doubt will be met. Lack of expensive infrastructure to carry all that power. Someone has to build that. Maybe give tax credits for companies to do so. Otherwise it's up to provincial utilities to do so.
That alone may take 10-20 years to build by the time permits, approvals, environmental assessments, etc are done.
And what will back up all this renewable energy?
Green hydrogen/ammonia. Can't other countries simply build their own? Otherwise have to build expensive port facilities and shipping costs. Does Northland even know what they are getting into?
With the large amount of renewable power requirements, countries can't continue to build 10,000's of wind turbines. Floating windfarms way out in the ocean would be expensive.
Build more nuclear others say. We are talking decades before any sustainable baseload is accomplished.
Not going to see mega dams anymore by the sound of it.
