Iceberg effect With 90% of an Iceberg being below the surface, it provides a good symbolic image of what others may see or not see if they happen to come across SQI. Last week there was another well suited opportunity for inclusion or mention of SQI products during or in follow-up to Avis Favaro's (CTV) news piece on Traferox Technologies. This Organ transportation product (also with Shaf Keshavjee involvement) is another part of the transplant ecosystem. All components of Shaf's VISION such as this one help maximaize the use and effectiveness of other components like SQI's TOR-Dx Lung Test. They all have a symbiotic relationship that ultimately leads to greater organ utilization.
While this remains virtually unknown, here below are some of the very bright people involved. It would be nice if they chose to shine a light on this incredible story/opportunity. Saving lives and being an important part of a multi-billion dollar industry is worth shouting.
Big names attached to SQI Diagnostics in one way or another. SQI is a part of an ecosystem that Shaf Keshavjee and partners have envisioned and developed over time. SQI became an important and necessary addition a little over five years ago. Precision or personalized medicine/therapy depends on high quality individualized biomarker results that can be provided in under an hour. SQI's proven and unique multiplex platform is well suited to deliver fast and reliable results driving more informed decision making and ultimately helping to save lives and provide excellent value for the health care system participants.
Michael Markowski - Analyst with Shiny Penny Stocks - Describes the three names immediately below as the Warren Buffett's of Canada. He goes on to say that SQI has some "change and improve the world" products/projects. He explains that every hospital in the world has problems with capacity and quality of care, dealing with high needs and limited resources. SQI's RALI triage tests would go a long way in helping assess all those in respiratory distress.
Combined Majority Shareholders
Clive Beddoe
Wilmot Matthews
Gerry Connor
Eric Zwisler (SQI Board Member with decorated experience).
The above four names (SQI Directors) are worth billions combined and they fully grasp the magnitute of the opportunity for all concerned. Not only is there an opportunity for SQI to be valued north of a billion dollars, but SQI also helps others to drive billions of dollars in collective opportunity annually. SQI is an important piece to many.
The below seven names are all associated with UHN - Sprott Department of Surgery, and represent just some of the key stakeholders.
Shaf Keshavjee
Marcelo Cypel
Brad Wouters
Mark Taylor
Lorenzo del Sorbo
Andrew Sage
Stephen Juvet
McMaster University - helped develop some of the surface technology.
(Tohid Didar & Leyla Soleymani)
Eden Rahim (Next Edge Capital) - equity position in SQI
Martine Rothblatt (Founder & CEO of United Therapeutics - Lung Bioengineering)
This company (currently worth $10B) stands to benefit greatly from the UHN Lung Protocol and has invested accordingly. SQI's TOR-Dx provides an important protocol extension for all concerned.
Additionally SQI's point of care/need device will be able to be used at participating transplant centers to test even the lungs that look most viable and may not need to be sent for referbishment. Less viable lungs will be sent to one of the Lung Bioengineering procurement centers for EVLP and reconditioning for most.
Andrew Morris - SQI CEO, & Mentor at Creative Destruction Lab - Biomedical Engineering Stream. Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) is a nonprofit organization that delivers an objective-based program for massively scalable, seed-stage, science-and technology-based companies. CDL's mission is to enhance the commercialization for the betterment of humankind.
Government of Ontario & Canada - Provided financial support via various programs to both UHN & SQI.
Owlstone Medical - Breathe technology partner to SQI & UHN with a bright future....(another valuable part of the ecosystem).
There is so much more that could be shared, but understanding those involved and how important the relationships are with one another is also good to acknowledge. SQI has massive value all on its own, but the incremental value to Shaf's ecosystem is very compelling. There is so much incentive here...
