RE:VGCX 2023 Q1 Earnings Estimates -Analyst Consensus - Really?

RE:VGCX 2023 Q1 Earnings Estimates -Analyst Consensus - Really? There are a lot of factors that go into calculation of net income and earnings per share, but having said that, I'd expect Q1/2023 earnings to be higher than Q1/2022 based on a 50% increase in gold production and higher gold prices.  Earnings per share in Q1 last year was $0.25/share.

Of course costs will also be higher due to inflation, but not 50% higher.
Derivative losses will be lower in spite of new gold hedges.
Gain in value of BYN shares will be slightly negative vs a $4 million gain last year.

Last year's Q1 earnings were almost half of full-year earnings.

Re CIBC, this was reported by April 18 Globe and Mail:

The CIBC analysts on Monday boosted their share target for Victoria Gold to $11.50 from $10.50, while maintaining a "neutral" recommendation. Analysts on average target Victoria Gold shares at $16.
