Yeah I think everyone can agree electrification of everything is a massive job that's going to take every little bit of metal this planet has to give.. I think it's great that they have developed a reliable & cheaper battery and it will find its place.

But maybe for peace of mind, for now at least nickel is still king of you want the highest energy density with newer cells getting close to 400wh/kg, vs 220wh/kg for LFP. People will pay a premium for applications that are weight sensitive, such as airplanes, high end cars, all your lawn maintenance equipment, power tools, etc.. but as was pointed out, big picture wise, there are billions of people seeking to get out of poverty and every aspect of modern life there is nickel involved. I say the demand isn't going away, and I believe that to be true for batteries. 

But price dictates everything at the dealership, at least for common folk. But if people have the choice to pay a bit more so they can make it to their destination in one go vs stopping for 1 hr + to charge each way then they are going to pony up.
