Sage Potash Corp. (SAGE.v) Aims to Boost US Domestic Potash Even though the USA holds the title of the world's largest agricultural exporter and ranks as the third biggest food producer, it only produces a mere 5% of the potash needed to sustain its vast agricultural sector. Recognizing this significant gap in domestic potash production, Sage Potash Corp (SAGE.v) has set its sights on becoming a major player in the US potash market.
SAGE's potash exploration land holdings are in Utah's Paradox Basin, an area that is estimated to host 28% of America's potash resources totalling an estimated 2 billion tons.
SAGE's flagship project is the Sage Plain Potash Project which is considered to be likely to contain the country's largest untapped potash resource. In total, the project has an inferred resource of 280 million metric tonnes of potash which could be enough for hundreds of years of production.
SAGE recently acquired l 5,118.78 acres of private leases to expand its Sage Plain Project. This acquisition brings the total size of the project to 88,118.78 acres, a 6% increase from before the acquisition. This expansion is a significant step forward as it is expected to allow increased resources and future surface infrastructure planning at the project.
SAGE estimates that it will be able to start producing potash from the Sage Plain Project in only 1-2 years.
